New paintings 2017
#167, Moonrise over the Finsteraarhorn
#168, Alpiglen and the Wetterhorn in Winter
#169, Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau from Bussalp
I'm delighted to say that all three paintings were accepted for this year's Guild exhibition, which opened in the Galerie Kunstsammlung Unterseen on Saturday 12th August 2017 and ran until Sunday 3rd September.
For further details please see the Guild website at www.gsbm.ch.
The exhibition venue in Unterseen by Interlaken, in the heart of the Bernese Oberland, provided an excellent opportunity to revisit the magnificent peaks overlooking the valley of Grindelwald.
First the Finsteraarhorn and then the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau were bathed in the glorious light of a golden autumn afternoon, as I came down from the Burg to Bussalp, with the rising moon adding a celestial dimension to the scene.
It was deep winter when we tobogganed down from Alpiglen and the Wetterhorn stood aloof in almost monochrome majesty.
The Finsteraarhorn and the Wetterhorn were also shown in the Christmas Exhibition in the Trotte Village Museum in Arlesheim, which ran from 8th to 23rd December.
I managed to finish two further paintings this year, namely the ones I entered for next year's Guild exhibition in the Old Corn Market, Lucerne, which opens already in January 2018.
#171, Brienzer Rothorn
